I’ve been knitting about 12 years now and I love to experiment with the different techniques and color work . So much to choose from & not enough time to do it. I learned to crochet when I was young but could never coordinate my hands to knit until a life changing event happened. At that time, I couldn’t read, listen to music with words and lost my desire to crochet. I could only sit on the sofa and watch tv. At that time, I started watching the DIY network and Edith Eig (knitting instructor to the stars) was on tv teaching knitting. As I watched a few episodes something sparked inside me and I thought maybe I can do that. I had the yarn so I went out, bought some knitting needles and I took off from there. I’m basically and obsessive person, so I became totally consumed with all things knitting. One thing led to another and over time I became a knitting teacher at Michael’s and was also asked to lead a the Knitting Club at my library(Matawan/Aberdeen Public Library). I also belong to a group of local women who meet weekly at Starbuck’s where we knit & chat, we’ve all become good friends. So I have to say that knitting changed my life, gave me new friends and provided a direction when I was without any hope or direction. I like to think that I’ve knitted my life back together.
